Arkhein implements a formal 7-level hierarchical reasoning pipeline that ensures accurate, reliable, and sovereign decision-making. This pipeline is designed to eliminate hallucinations and maintain integrity through multi-pass verification.

Level 0: Grounding (EnvironmentScanner)

The EnvironmentScanner generates Silo Semantic Maps for naming and purpose detection. This establishes the structural awareness required for all subsequent operations.

Level 1: Perception

Structural analysis of intent and complexity detection. This level examines the input request to determine if it requires simple retrieval, complex reasoning, or multi-step execution.

Level 2: Context

Selective contextualization and strategy selection. Arkhein chooses between Manifest-only, RAG-only, or Hybrid strategies to eliminate noise and maximize signal.

Level 3: Canopy (Silo Discovery)

A high-level discovery pass using synthesized folder summaries. Instead of searching all fragments immediately, Arkhein first identifies the specific silos relevant to the query.

Level 4: Decomposition

Intent-aware task breakdown into multi-phase reasoning plans. Complex goals are externalized into discrete steps that can be tracked and verified.

Level 5: Scratchpad

Physical on-disk reasoning within durable internal workspaces. This provides a "laboratory" environment for tool execution, data manipulation, and intermediate synthesis.

Level 6: Self-Critique

Hallucination auditing and accuracy verification pass. Arkhein reflects on its own reasoning and scratchpad outputs to ensure factual integrity before final delivery.

Level 7: Generation

Final synthesis with high-signal content and professional T.O.V. The output is produced only after the previous 7 levels have verified the underlying reasoning.
